Banks come up with funds to help flood victims
At least 19 private banks have again come up with donations for the relief of the flood victims.
The top officials of the banks handed over funds to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, at a function at Gono Bhaban in Dhaka, the banks said in separate statements yesterday.
One Bank gave Tk 1.5 crore while AB Bank, Pubali Bank, Brac Bank, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, City Bank, Exim Bank, First Security Islami Bank, IFIC Bank donated Tk 75 lakh each. Islami Bank Bangladesh, Mutual Trust Bank, National Bank, Prime Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Social Islami Bank, Standard Bank and United Commercial Bank also donated Tk 75 lakh each.
NRB Commercial Bank and NRB Global Bank gave Tk 25 lakh each to the relief fund, according to the statements.
