ACCA Bangladesh welcomes new members
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh organised a programme to welcome the 67 newly qualified ACCA and 16 FCCA members, at Le Méridien Dhaka on Thursday.
Md Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, head of ACCA Bangladesh, urged the ACCA members to spread their success stories and help shape the future for others while delivering the market's expectations on leadership, professionalism and ethics.
Bashar delivered the welcome note at the programme. Md Arif-Al Islam, managing director and CEO of Summit Communications Ltd, asked the new members to take the career seriously and nurture it as one would do in case of a garden.
Hosne Ara Begum, managing director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, expressed her admiration for the accountancy professionals and urged them to work for the nation.
Kanbar Hossein Bor, deputy high commissioner of British High Commission to Bangladesh, was the guest of honour at the programme, ACCA Bangladesh said in a statement.
He recited a verse from a song of Bangladesh's national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam to highlight that the responsibilities and qualities of transparency and accountability of the professionals, who would shape not only the future of Bangladesh, but also the world.
CQK Mustaq Ahmed, chairman of the Financial Reporting Council, also spoke.
A short video was played presenting the “ACCA Story”, narrating how the professional body came about.
