Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Wednesday night phoned BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to enquire about her health.

The BNP chief's press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan said this at a press briefing yesterday night at Khaleda's Gulshan office.

Amit Shah telephoned Khaleda Zia at 10:30pm on Wednesday, enquired about her physical condition and prayed for her quick recovery, said Maruf.

The BNP Chairperson thanked the BJP chief for his phone call and said she was getting better, he added.

During a siege of Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office, law enforcers on Monday morning fired pepper spray on agitating BNP activists locked inside the office. Khaleda complained of a breathing problem later in the day.
