Rapid Action Battalion seized 65,000 yaba tablets from the fuel tank of a car in the capital's Adabar and arrested two people in this connection on Monday night.

Acting on a tip-off that some drug dealers were waiting with a big consignment of yaba pills to deliver, a team of Rab-2 raided the parking space of a building around 9:45pm, said a Rab press release.

Iqbal Hossain, 28, and Gias Uddin  Chowdhury, 36, who were in the car, tried to flee. But Rab members managed to detain them, the release said.

Rab claimed that the two admitted that they had long been involved in smuggling yaba tablets from Cox's Bazar, Chittagong and Teknaf in the fuel tank of car and supplying those to the drug dealers in the capital and elsewhere in the country.

On March 3, police arrested yaba dealer Mehedi Hasan alias Antu, 23, in the capital's Palashi area and seized 5,000 yaba pills hidden inside his motorcycle chassis and shock absorbers.
