Criminals shot a Jubo League activist dead in Badda area last night.

Abdur Razzak, 30, also the owner of cable TV service provider Max Cable, was a resident of Madhya Badda.

Police detained three suspects when they were trying to flee after the shooting.

Three men on a motorcycle entered Badda Jagoroni Club premises and started shooting Jubo League man Razzak, Habibur Rahman, general secretary of the club, told The Daily Star, who witnessed the shooting.

Razzak was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died at 10:00pm.

The suspects tried to flee on their bike but it crashed near the scene. Locals then chased them. Being chased by a mob, the trio took refuge in a room of a nearby building.

Ashraful Islam, assistant commissioner of Badda zone police, said the three took shelter in the Bepari Shopping Complex area and they detained them from there and also recovered a small firearm from their possession.
