“Ankhi o Tar Bondhura” at KICFF

Morshedul Islam's film “Ankhi o Tar Bondhura” is set to be screened at the Kolkata International Children's Film Festival, which begins today.
The nine-day festival, in its seventh edition, will screen a total of 200 films from 32 countries at four venues – Nandan I, II and III; Shishir Mancha, Rabindra Teertha and Ahindra Mancha in the Indian city. .
“I am really happy about the film being a part of this festival,” Morshedul Islam told The Daily Star from Dhaka. He also added that he is not being able to attend the festival due to personal reasons.
“Ankhi o Tar Bondhura”, based on Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal's juvenile novel “Ankhi O Amra Ko'jon”, was released in December of last year in Bangladesh.
The festival, which is organised by the Information and Culture office of India's West Bengal state government and Shishu Kishor Academy, will open with Sandip Roy-directed “Double Feluda”, commemorating 50 years of Satyajit Ray's immortal sleuth character Feluda. The film intertwines and his two adventures – “Samaddarer Chabi” and “Golokdham Rahasya”.
