“Dhaka Attack” in full swing

Cop thrillers are one of the most popular genres of commercial films worldwide, and even neighboring Bollywood have been churning them out with great success in recent years. Director Dipangkar Dipon's ambitious cop thriller project, the first in Bangladesh, has been drawing attention ever since its announcement. With a portfolio of successful TV plays, Dipon has cast a formidable lineup to star in the film: Afzal Hossain, Shatabdi Wadud, Arifin Shuvo, Mahi and Nawshaba.
Afzal Hossain, returning to the big screen after a long time, will be playing the Police Commissioner, while Shatabdi Wadud will be portraying another police high-up. Shuvo plays a daredevil cop with the bomb disposal unit, while Mahi essays the role of a journalist.
About his role, Shatabdi Wadud told The Daily Star: “It's a challenging role, and as an actor, taking a challenge is always exciting.” He also informed that filming is nearly halfway done, while some sequences will be shot next month in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Shuvo informed that he had fallen ill on set one time -- such is the intensity of his role. He, however assured that the audiences will see something new in the film.
Dipangkar Dipon, meanwhile said “There is a lot of work to do before making a film, and a lot of work after. We have been preparing for this film for a year and a half. We're happy with the progress, and hopefully will make a good film.”
