Dissident JCD men have postponed their agitation till tomorrow following the assurance of BNP spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that he would take the issue to party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

A five-member delegation of the rebel leaders of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal came up with the decision after an around 20-minute discussion with Mirza Fakhrul, also acting secretary general of BNP, at his chamber at the party’s central  office in Nayapaltan of Dhaka this afternoon.

Tariqul Islam Tuku, a member of the delegation, said they would come up with fresh agitation if their demands for scrapping the JCD central committee and declaring a new one comprising of dedicated and tested JCD men are not met by tomorrow.
