Depression crosses Andhra

The deep depression over the Bay crossed north Andhra coast near Machilipatnam at noon yesterday and lay centred as a land depression over Andhra Pradesh.

It is likely to move in a northwesterly direction and weaken gradually, said a Met Office bulletin yesterday.

Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over north Bay. Squally weather may affect the ports.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to keep close to the coast until further notice.
