Bashabo residents' plight

Being a resident of Bashabo I have been experiencing all kinds of problems in the last few days. There are a few lakh residents in this locality. Apart from the load-shedding in this terrible heat, we have been subjected to further misery by the construction work that is going on for the sewage system. A large area from the main road at Buddhamandir to Kadamtala bridge has been dug up by the agency concerned. Every day we have to walk quite a distance to avail any kind of transport. Our plight increases when it rains. I thank you for covering the issue but it seems that the authorities are still handling the project in a relaxed manner.

This has been the trait for the last seventeen years and it seems to continue. Only God knows when our ordeal will come to an end.
