According to Rab, at around 3:00am, a team of Rab 12 from Pabna camp acted on a tip off and raided Char Ghoshpur village where the criminals belonging to the outlawed party gathered to commit criminal acts. As soon as Rab reached the spot, the criminals opened fire on Rab. The law enforcers also returned fire prompting a gunfight that lasted around 40 minutes. The two outlaws were found dead after the gunfight was over, claimed Rab. Habilder M Saifullah and soldiers Shakhawat and Abdus Sattar of Rab were injured in the gunfight.
