17 Bangladeshi students receive US State Dept certificates


US Department of State yesterday gave away certificates to 17 Bangladeshi students of secondary and higher secondary levels for their successful completion of Partnership for Learning Youth Exchange and Study (P4LYES) programme.

Bangladesh Country Office of Nacel Open Door, a voluntary organisation, organised the P4LYES Students Certificate Awarding Ceremony 2005-2006 at the Women Voluntary Auditorium (WVA) in the city

The students went to the USA last year on a one-year full-fledged scholarship, financed by the US Department of State, and got back home recently.

During their stay in the USA, they studied at different American schools in a bid to learn, enhance cooperation and exchange culture between the two countries.

State Minister for the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Lutfor Rahman Khan Azad distributed the certificates among the students.

The students who received certificates are: Mirza Salma Mishori, Maheen Mahjabeen, Kinnor Chakma, Morsheda Khatun, Tanvir Hakim (Tanvir), Rafatul Bari (Labib), Saif Alam (Rumeen), Masaba Adneen, Nusrat Jahan, Deep Mohammad Azmain, Rubaiyat Kamal, Sushmita Zaman Mou, Farhanaz Fatima Reya, Afroza Sultana (Bristy), Sanwar Azam (Sunnay), Shubhojit Roy (Shubho) and Nisha Chakma (Nisha).
