It said that Hindu devotees have been offering prayers at the Ramna Temple and Ma Anandamoyee Ashram in the Suhrawardy Udyan for hundreds of years and the Hindus are shocked by the decision of the government of relocating those to a nearby place.

The memo also urged the PM to take measures to revoke the moving order of the temple for the sake of country's secular spirit.

A procession of the parishad marched toward the PM's office to submit the memo but police blocked the procession at Shahbagh intersection. A team of representatives then went to the PM's office and submitted the memo.

Earlier, at a rally in front of the National Museum, leaders of the parishad demanded immediate return of two acres and 22 decimals of land belonging to the temple that had been occupied by a vested quarter patronised by the present government.

Chief advisor to the parishad Maj Gen (retd) C R Dutta (Bir Uttam), president C R Sarker, general secretary Biresh Chandra Saha, vice president Swapan Kumar Saha and Prof Dr Nim Chandra Bhowmik were present among others at the rally.
