No interest about ODI in Bogra

The excitement that gripped people of Bogra during Sri Lanka's tour of Bangladesh in February and earlier this month, has died down although the northern town is ready to host the first one-day international between Bangladesh and Kenya here tomorrow.Kenya being only an ICC associate member might be the reason behind the lack of enthusiasm but the East Africans have a long history of cricket rivalry with the Tigers. Kenya have a very impressive record against the newest Test nation having won six one-dayers in seven meetings and the last time the two sides met in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, Bangladesh were on the receiving end. But the most important game between the two sides went Bangladesh's way when they edged Kenya to clinch the ICC Trophy in Kuala Lumpur in 1997. The Tigers arrived in Bogra a day earlier and had their training session yesterday morning. The Kenyans had light practice yesterday afternoon when coach Roger Harper and captain Steve Tikolo had a first look at the wicket of the Shaheed Chandu Stadium. Despite lack of crowd interest, the price of the tickets have been increased for the match. Gallery tickets will cost Tk 60, Special enclosure Tk 300, VIP Club-house Tk 750, VIP (Gate-2) Tk 1,500, VIP (Gate 1) Tk 2,000 and hospitality box (non-AC) Tk 1,500 respectively. The City Bank has been handed over 11,000 tickets to sell from today.
