127 students get DBBF scholarships
The Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation (DBBF) yesterday awarded scholarships to 127 meritorious students who have passed SSC examinations last year, says a press release.

The students were awarded scholarships at a simple ceremony at Osmani Memorial Hall in the city.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed gave away the scholarships to the recipients as chief guest.

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited Managing Director Md Yeasin Ali presided.

Dr Fakhruddin in his speech lauded the DBBF scholarship programme and recalled its other philanthropic activities. He said that DBBF philanthropic activities would inspire other corporate bodies to come forward with such programmes that would eventually benefit the society at large.

Yeasin Ali said that Dutch Bangla Bank as a partner of development of society carried out diverse altruistic activities.

Recipients of scholarships Swati Dashgupta, Md Minhaz Kabir and Fatema Tuz Johra Bristy also spoke.
