Faruque, Shamim elected OCAB president, secy

Zahiduzzaman Faruque of Kyodo News Agency, Japan, has been elected President and Shamim Ahmad of United News of India reelected General Secretary of the Overseas Correspondents Association Bangladesh (OCAB) for the year 2005.Other office-bearers are: Vice-President Moslem Uddin Ahmed (Gemini News Service, London, UK), Joint Secretary Qadir Kallol (BBC Bangla Service) and Treasurer Amir Khasru (Voice of America-VOA). Executive committee members are: Bashudeb Dhar (The Statesman, Kolkata, India), Md. Mostafa Kamal Majumder (The Panos Institute, London), Mir Lutful Kabir Saadi (Impact International, London), Rahman Jahangir (Saudi Gazette, KSA), Shafiqul Bashar (BERNAMA, Malaysia) and M Mukhlesur Rahman Chowdhury (The Island/Upali Newspapers, Sri Lanka) ex-officio.
