Unbelievable, bizzare!
3-yr-old child accused of attempted murder surrenders to court

Believe it or not! A 3-year-old child, accused in an attempted murder case, surrendered before court in his father's lap yesterday and prayed for bail.

Baby boy Iman Ali looked horrified at the court environment with lots of policemen, lawyers, journalists and litigants around. He cried embracing his father and gave a blank look being unable to comprehend all that was going on in the court.

The sensational appearance drew hundreds of onlookers to the court premises, who castigated the complainant of the case for what they said was framing the boy.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Towfiqul Alam however granted bail to Iman upon a bond of Tk 5,000 with two guarantors -- the father and one of his lawyers. The prosecution did not oppose the bail petition.

Iman appeared before the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dhaka in his father Anwar Ali's lap along with the lawyers at 1:30pm. The lawyers while moving the bail petition told the court that the complainant implicated Iman in the case despite knowing his age.

The complainant's son-in-law, Ali Hossain, earlier also filed nine other criminal cases accusing other family members in a bid to grab three katha land of Iman's father at Sayedabad in the city.
