20 hurt in Kushtia clash over land dispute


At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups in a land dispute at Mongolbaria village on the outskirts of Kushtia town Tuesday evening.

Police said the rival groups were led by Azizul and Siraj, the two neighbours who had a long standing dispute over a land.

The clash ensued as Azizul beat the wife of Sirajul after she abused him, police said quoting local people.

The rival groups used lethal weapons during the clash.

Of the injured, Azizul, 30, Daud, 31, Parul, 24, Akbar, 23, Sakabbar, 36, Ansar, 22, were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.

Police visited the village as a tense situation was prevailing.

No case was filed till the report was fled Wednesday morning.
