Housewife raped

A teenage housewife was confined and gang-raped at Dharmaganj Gudaraghat for 22 hours from 8:00pm Monday to 6:00pm Tuesday.

When the gang of four let the 18-year-old housewife go, she went to Fatulla Police Station to file a case, but police did not record one till the filing of this report at 8:30 last night.

Relatives of the victim, a worker of a garment factory at the BSCIC industrial area, said she went out of their rented house at Shashangaon in Fatulla Monday evening in search of her missing husband.

Her husband, a local brick-field employee, has been missing for last one and a half months, they added.

The gang following her for a long time, took her forcibly to a room at Gudaraghat and raped her.

They took her at gunpoint to another house at Baktaboli by a boat at midnight and raped her again until freeing her Tuesday evening.

The victim told police that she identified two of the rapists as Shah Alam of Dharmaganj and Farooq of Baktaboli.

Fatulla police took her complaint but did not register it as a case or move for arrest of the alleged rapists.
