Mohalchhari arson 20-member team due today to

A 20-member committee will come to Mohalchhari in Khagrachhari district today on a weeklong visit to assess the damage of property due to the August 26 arson attack on 12 indigenous villages there that left some 2000 people homeless, official sources said.Two people including an infant were also killed, 20 others injured and nine women raped during the attack. Joint Secretary Md Zulfiqur Rahman of the CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts) affairs ministry will head the committee, which is also comprised of officials from the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and Unicef (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund). The committee was formed following a proposal from BNP lawmaker Wadood Bhuiyan during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on CHT affairs on September 29.
