Declaration of the end of shooting of the film Kokhono Megh, Kokhono Brishti (KMKB), and the initiation of a film award gave way to a mass revelry at the Winter Garden of Hotel Sheraton on August 24 evening. Well-reputed media concerns Impress Telefilm Ltd. (ITL) and Channel-i held a celebration to mark the occasions in a boisterous way. The programme presented a promotional of the film KMKB, screening of two songs from the film, declaration of the soon-to-start Channel-i Film Awards, and, above all, a concert by Runa Laila.Actress Moushumi, who debuts in direction with KMKB, informed that most of the editing and other technical work has completed. She heartily thanked ITL for providing all kinds of support to an 'inexperienced' director. She also expressed her gratitude to all involved in the film. Veteran actor Razzak, who also acts in the film, congratulated Moushumi on her achievement. 'In fact, it's the first time I have worked under a lady director,' he cut humorously. Razzak also urged to those who have discarded Bangla film for its vulgarity and degradation, so that people come and watch KMKB. For, 'It's a good movie and will be able to revive the taste of the purely family entertainment movies of the old days.' Sadeq Hossain, Mayor, DMC, and Toriqul Islam, Minister for Information, both praised this effort of ITL in bringing the large audience back to the cinema halls. Later, two songs from KMKB--Ei Baishakhey lekha premer chithi and the title track were screened. Regarding the Channel-i Film Awards, Faridur Reza Sagar informed, it was decided that no movies from the Impress Telefilm-Channel-i family will be eligible for the competition. The award. includes a sum of Tk. 10,000.00, a certificate and a crest. The internationally acclaimed artiste Runa Laila took the stage last, and rendered her very first movie number Gaaner khatay sawarolipi likhey. After that she performed her 'brand' song Shilpi, and a few more popular numbers. Punctuated by humorous interaction with the audience and film personalities, Runa's brilliant performance was an appropriate item in the ceremony.
