10 killed in Rajbari road crash

At least 10 people were killed and around 23 others injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Douladia-Khulna highway in Rajbari Sadar upazila early Friday.
Six of the deceased were identified as Khandakar Golam Mostafa, 48, Mahbub Alam, 40, Babu Fakir, 40, supervisor of Global Paribahan, Jewel, 35, helper of the bus, Poresh, 32, counter master of Goalanda crossing counter of the bus, and Afsar Uddin, 35, reports our Kustia correspondent.

Among the deceased, three were women aged between 30 to 35 and a two-year-old child. Details of the victims could not be known immediately, our Kushtia correspondent reports quoting Mahsinul Haque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Faridpur Sadar Police Station.
A Barisal-bound Global Paribahan bus from Dhaka collided head-on with an oncoming bus of Eagle Paribahan from Khulna at Basantapur area of the upazila around 4:15am, leaving six people dead on the spot and 23 others injured, the OC said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the injured persons to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where four of them succumbed to their injuries in the morning, our correspondent added.
